CAMPING TANAKA-STYLE

It is super cold here at the campsite, especially in the morning! Once you thaw out, you feel fine, but that takes a while. Everyone started to stir around sunrise which was around 5:30am. Kind of early. Most of us girls didn't get up until 7:30.

Daddy made pancakes and bacon for breakfast -- yum! Aaron and Lily helped too. There were several "deep fat fried" pancakes that tasted really good. We also had some cantaloupe.

We got to Long Beach around 10 or 11am. The bike shop was already open which is a good thing. They must have upgraded their fleet of surreys because we got two nice surreys with no poke-y seats. Everyone took turns driving -- except me, for some reason -- and we didn't tip over this time.

After the surreys, we all rode go karts. I didn't want to ride, but I guess it was interesting. Aaron, Kristi, and Dad were the fast ones. Mama and I couldn't catch them. Then, we had to say goodbye to Mama.

We had sandwiches back at camp and then went to the beach. Aaron and I brought our new telescope which was very bulky and heavy. We climbed up a small cliff (about 20-30 feet) so that we could see the water clearly. We looked at buoys and ships and The Great Glopasaurus. We could even see the grass under Dad's feet!

We tried to find the moon this evening, but we couldn't for some reason. Next time, I guess. Chili for dinner.
